Defender logo underline
Apologies if already discussed, but what's the current deal with the Defender logo on the back end of new vehicles?

The logo on the back end of my LR is missing the underline:

I've seen another showroom fresh Defender that's the same as mine, but a recent picture of someone else's brand new vehicle shows it with the underline.

It is a random thing, tail end of MY2014 transition, or should those of us missing them be heading back to dealerships wielding pitchforks and demanding our underlines? Laughing

Stickers of any type are naff. Just like chequer plate they should be banned. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

... together with seats. We should all be made to sit on pointy sticks... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Missing underline = advanced weight savings to further improve fuel economy.
Just like the rear door handle which as of the switch from 2.4 Puma to the 2.2 Puma had holes drilled into it.... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

My Defender is actually an MY13 although it was first registered in 14, so if it is the back of my Defender you're referring to, that's why it has the underline under the logo.
Talking of which, my bonnet has Land Rover on it instead of Defender. Should I change it to Defender in keeping with other 14 plate defenders or leave it?

You may as well write "Jeep" on the front - most people don't seem to know the difference and it may reduce your fuel consumption Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Excellent. And avoided a second round of pitchfork activity too!

Don't worry, it's only the badges and the remote that changed! Nothing too worry about! Wink
