T-Cut and a warm day needed this weekend, sorry to hear of your misfortune.
I agree with your thoughts on the refinement too, the 2.2 is not the quietest diesel engine around but I knew that before I bought it. With a smooth driving style, it just purrs along. After 6 months I still look forward to getting in it each day. 1970 Series 2A 88" |

Ouch! Brand new vehicle .... hardly out of the box and bang! I really feel for you as I've been terrified of doing the same thing for the past few months - along with putting the wrong fuel in it.
I've got a piece of card fitted to the sun visor with the max height, width and length of my 90 in large numbers (both in metric and imperial). I've also been known to eject a passenger to visually check clearances for me (when in doubt). Sadly I've never been convinced about the accuracy of many car park clearance signs (or for that matter railway bridges either). |

Note to all Defender owners - Might also be worth checking the real height of your own Defenders? With different suspension, wheels, tyres, roof racks, aerials, beacons and assorted tat - How many of you know the real height of your own vehicle?

Spoke to the dealer today and they are taking it back next week to do the privacy glass and he said they will sort out the scratches for me thank goodness, as a good will gesture. I must say they are a very good dealership. I have nothing but praise for them so far since I started dealing with them back in the summer last year.

The ironic thing is, I DID get a woman I work with, to meet me at the entrance to the car park to see me in and through the tougher bits and the stupid cow kept waving me through!!!!
Needless to say I wanted to shout at her and throttle her but instead I had to try and make out it wasn't an issue as I sit next to her at work every day all day. |

Oh dear, that's a shame. Feel for you. Just for future reference it just happens that the radio aerial when fully extended is a touch taller than the rest of the Defender, so if your aerial twitches - hit the brakes! OK, it's not a hard and fast rule because it's reliant on your aerial being fully extended, but it works for me. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Standard aerial, fully extended, is a must for all indoor car parks as far as I am concerned. Aerial OK, car OK. LANDYWATCH
