The basic crimping pliers don't seem to do it very well? Or am I doing it wrong? An engine to TDi for!

Mal- Link doesn't work for me either!
It's for 2.5mmSq. Wires, like these ones... http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-...gterms.php I found the ratcheting type crimped them too tightly and the almost crushed them An engine to TDi for! "Land Rover- Proudly turning drivers into mechanics since 1948" |

Well that link mentions Durite connector crimping but I've done mine perfect IMO with just a pair of needle nose pliers. No crushing but not loose either.
I don't see any need at all for buying any special tool unless it was a very large crimp that needed to be very tight. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 Last edited by custom90 on 27th Mar 2014 5:35pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I have a pair of these. Bought them for myself for Christmas.Worth it as it meant that I did the job properly rather than unsuccessfully with a pair of pliers

most of the crimping tools you see just seem to crush the crimp and you wont find them in a aircraft electricians box, I always use the type that fold the crimp part in . they have a pointly bit that pushes in to crimp not just crush the end.
if you want a good pair get aircraft ones |
