Non-Insulated terminal crimping
Hi all,

What's the best way to crimp non-insulated terminals?
I've tried ratcheting crimps, but they're a bit cumbersome for my liking. I've got a lot to do, so I need an easy way of doing it!
So what's everyone else using?

Regards

What type of terminal are you trying to crimp?

Mal- Link doesn't work for me either!
It's for 2.5mmSq. Wires, like these ones...

I found the ratcheting type crimped them too tightly and the almost crushed them Confused An engine to TDi for!

Well that link mentions Durite connector crimping but I've done mine perfect IMO with just a pair of needle nose pliers. No crushing but not loose either.
I don't see any need at all for buying any special tool unless it was a very large crimp that needed to be very tight. No Guts, No Glory.

I have a pair of these. Bought them for myself for Christmas.Worth it as it meant that I did the job properly rather than unsuccessfully with a pair of pliers

most of the crimping tools you see just seem to crush the crimp and you wont find them in a aircraft electricians box, I always use the type that fold the crimp part in . they have a pointly bit that pushes in to crimp not just crush the end.

if you want a good pair get aircraft ones

I bought from here:
http://www.wirecrimpingtools.co.uk/categories.php?cat=14

I also bought different die sets ("jaws") so I can crimp other types of fasteners as well Thumbs Up Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
