Box next to fuses under drivers seat?
Hi all, there is a random white box bolted to the inside of the box under the drivers seat. It has two squareish plugs on it (with a connector in one) labeled "A" and "B". The cable that goes into the plug goes to a socket mounted on the box which protudes into the drivers footwell (has a screw on cover, is circular with holes for pins to go into) .

Lower down there is two grey shrouded cables connected into the white box, with a spare socket above(seems to have an internal screw thread). there is also a Black box fixed to the front of the white box with an orange and a purple wire going into it.

The defender is ex environment agency, and i believe it might have a speed limiter as wouldn't go above 75mph when testing it (obviously on private property). Could it be something to do with that or something completely diffrent. A while a go i was loking for speaker cables at the rear of the load space and came across a blue connector connected to nothing on the drivers side and a yellow connector on the passenger side (no speaker cables sadly).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I used to work for the EA about 5 years ago on a contract basis, around that time the EA started fitting these monitor / tracker boxes. All the field agents are given a hand held device which lists routes and job and they plug it into their vehicle, this basically tracks the miles they cover and speeds they are travelling. I'm failry sure it is that but I dont know if the speed limiter is also part of it.

It was all about reducing carbob footprint as the EA had to be seen to be doing there bit.

Hope that is of some help. Michael was just telling me a story about a friend of his who slept with a land rover, lonely nights in the desert..

Just booked it in for a full service at local landrover experts. They said they'd have a look at it then, got to write a list of things for them to quote on.

Thats for a remote handset to plug in. It allows you to increase the throttle for when your using a PTO winch.
Your last picture shows the plug socket which you plug in the control box. It has on / off up / down and power light. I got the handcontrol but it has never worked for me.
The black box with the 2 wires I think is something extra - maybe thats a tracker??
