Your problem is most likely getting the tweeters to balance well with the woofers, how are they connected, did the Kappa's come with a passive crossover and is that what you are using? (head unit into box, output from box to speakers and tweeters)

I had some 17cm Kappa's (vintage 2003 at least) in my last car and found they were quite bright and with an Alpine head unit I had to wind the treble down to -2 to make it sound ok.

Just stick an old sock over each tweeter, that should do it Rolling with laughter

Or mount them down under the dash where they are not bouncing directly into your ear 'ole? Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain...
XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?)

Portugal 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Keswick Green
Topic Hijack !! Whistle

Just a few questions ...
I bought a set of tweeters today to fit in my 110 ... I read the other day in this forum that the tweeters are plug n' play ... just conect them to the wires hanging around there ... Is this true ?

The set of tweeters I bought bring a pair of crossovers, do I need to fit them ?Or did the Puma bring a pre-instalation with these ? Or do I have to check my radio ... or somewhere else?

Thank you .... Mr. Green Regards
Joao

Depends if the Defender loom already has a cross over, I doubt it, factory speakers usually just have a cheap filter on the back of the tweeter. Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain...
