My 2.4 110 is coming up to it's 4th birthday and as such the extended year of warranty expires in a week weeks. It's booked in for a couple of little things, and I was just wondering if there are any 'known faults' which I should get fixed/checked for before it expires?
I know there was something about 'spacers' for the gear box/selector mechanism, and possibly a bulletin released and so I'm going to speak to the dealer about it. Anyone know the official name or number etc for the bulletin? It's had the clutch replaced at 50-odd-k miles and so think that's ok. Any other common faults I should have checked out before the bill lands at my door rather than the warranty company's? Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

My handbrake lever isn't going down, it does disengage fine though just the lever springs up and the light stays on. - that's the reason it's in at the moment so hopefully will be fine after. Cheers, David

They'd do it automatically then, the recall was to do with possibly oil contamination iirc.

Ok cheers. I'll make sure they've sorted it properly then if required. Had been 'fixed' before by just adjusting cable I think but didn't last long so there must be another underlying issue.
I've sent an email to a service manager that I know who will hopefully let me know of any bulletins/recalls/known faults etc. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Why do you not check on Topix to see if there are any outstanding recalls!

My 3 year warranty runs out this September, so will be eager to have any recall work carried out if missed already, also I will be visiting dealer for a pre end of warranty checkup and inspection.
I have registered with Topix and have gone through the process of registering, though when I try to log on I get the following message "User access not possible, please contact the helpdesk for assistance." Any ideas anyone? Cheers |

Works fine here. I'm not an IT expert so I am unable to help you with Topix. However, your Dealership should be able to give you the info/printout. LANDYWATCH

When my 2010 110 was nearing warranty end I had it checked by an independent here in WA and took their findings to the stealer.
Small dispute about where a strange bagpipe type moaning noise (no offence intended..I love the sound of real pipes) was coming from and the stealers mechanics said it was the transfer box. No recon boxes in Oz so a week later I had a new box and am very happy with it. Worth getting an extra look at it. AlanH. |

Suggest you take it for MOT as soon as you can before the Warranty runs out. Ask the MOT tester to be really vigilant, and, if they'll let you, gave a dig around under there whilst it's up on the ramps...Make sure the suspension bushings are all 100% Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
