whilst you've got the engine out, maybe you could consider putting the 3.2 in? i assume people source these from ford. Twisted, Nene, etc all have fitted these regularly and a couple on this forum have too... Cheers, David

All transit derived engines needs all the defender ancillerys fitting you want a 2.2 dura torque engine or 2.4 dura torque make sure it comes with a ecu
The 3.2 is an option just a lot more work involved Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

thank you all for answers - was hoping it would be a straightforward switch, with only manifold and turbo being a little different. The 3,2 would be great but illegal in Denmark - max. 20% increase in hp… No chance the LR ecu will communicate with transit engine?
