I read something about problems with the fuel breather on Pumas (LR changed the design or location to prevent this?). Because mine sometimes has a very noisy engine, mostly in cold/humid weather, I wonder if water gets into the diesel through the breather.
Is there an easy way to check if the fuel breather is OK? Hans http://www.orlaya.fr |

Thanks for the link. They talk about an image that shows the breather location, but the image is not visible in the thread.
Could anyone post it? How to interpret the VIN-number? Mine is longer than the one mentioned in the thread. The car has been to the dealer's several times (still under warranty) because of water in the diesel. But they never really solved the problem. They once charged replacing the diesel filter because the water 'came from using bad diesel, so not covered by warranty'. When the engine becomes noisy, I stop and clean the common rail pressure sensor and it runs smooth again. I'm pretty sure the problem is not due to the diesel I use. I've had MIL problems several times and they disappeared after cleaning the sensor. I would like to get this solved before the car goes out of warranty. Hans http://www.orlaya.fr |

Despite the pictures on this forum I couldn't locate the breather pipe on my car. It should be somewhere below one of the rear wheel-arches but I just can't see it. Any hints? Hans http://www.orlaya.fr |

From memory only
Should be located in one of the rear wheels arch. If I remember well it is clipped to the rear pannel in the arch at the left side. Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

as above. Should be in the LHS rear arch - towards the back. If it isn't there, try behind the plastic trim at the back of the arch - sometimes the dealers have relocated them there to prevent mud and crap getting into them.
