maybe the old boy was getting confused with the v8 one he had, any road, I do believe I have made a decision on a 90 van conversion 300.. Because its registered commercial, is there any way of changing that to match a csw (insurance wise i have had csw's appear as cars not vans)

I am also looking into buying a semi reasonable one and refurbing it, any engine suppliers and interior trimmers that aren't exmoor, bearing in mind i'm not a keen fan of the bucket seats and microwheel.

best accessory shops?

and one last one is, where can i find those metal eyelets people use on the body to reroute the exhaust out the side of the shell?

Thanks very much for all your help, advice and knowledge ladies and gents, its much appreciated

Stay muddy Thumbs Up

Changing to csw has become quite an ordeal due to the lez inside the m25. Too many people were trying and dvla now basically go off the chassis number, if it was born as a van it stays one. That is not to say that insurance won't be understanding but it is not as simple as it was. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Mine was converted before I got it, no problems with insurance as long as you go to someone like Flux or Lancaster, it is only main stream insurers who are more picky.

I find Mailorder 4x4 very good, its just nobody is cheapest for everything, 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

'I had a look at a 300 90 van, I see the panel supports in the back, are they glued and bolted or riveted?'

I've recently done a van to sw conversion - pretty easy really, the panel supports are riveted and glued, just drill rivets heads off (8mm drill bit if I remember), then knock off with a hammer. Then its just a jigsaw (aluminium cutting blade), a steady hand and take a deep breath!! Can post a few piccies up if you like.... 1959 Series 2 Ragtop
