hi everybody
i have just purchased a 2005 swb 90 from a dealer in somerset [i live in birmingham]. it has developed a noise from the back end [metalic sound] when i move forward and when i move backward.because of the distance involved going back to the dealer i took it to garage by me [the mechanic has a disco himself so knows a thing or two],he checked all the bushes and said they were fine and said the noise seems to be coming from rear axle. i phoned the dealer and he said it sounds like a drive flange needs replacing ,so posted 2 to me to fit which i did. replaced left side first and checked for noise [still there] then replaced right side [still got noise] has anybody got any ideas? [mechanic checked the props said they were fine] also went to work this morning come home and noticed a wheel center [on rear wheel] was mising, when i looked close i could see the rubber cup was missing on drive flange. i would say the cup blew off taking the wheel center with it, if i had put to much grease around shaft and in the cup could this have happened? yours cordell |

You should be able to take it to any dealer - not just the one you bought it off.
If it's covered by warranty then any dealer can do it just re-read your post. 2005 sorry. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |
