The usual advice for private extortionists lile this is to ignore any ticket they put out. The Halfords car park in Burton on Trent is a usual trap with the private owners giving out tickets.

A lot of the car parks operate outside guidelines and due to the costs will never pursue in court. If you get a letter in the post (of which there may be a few), ignore them too as if you contact them you are opeing debate. Craig Rogers

I don't think there's access to the Newhaven Mole anymore. Sad
Used to love going out there in a big blow.

PARKING AND THE LAW - The law on parking is fairly easy. I have recently taken legal advice on this subject from a leading law firm.....in simplistic terms only the police can ticket on PUBLIC ROADS and the LOCAL AUTHORITY on public roads and Coucil owned or controlled car parks. Anyone else can ticket, but cant penalise. This applies to this joker in Cornwall, a private sports centre or even a rail station car park. BUT, what you must do is compensate them for their LOSS. So, write back with a cheque for the parking fee and a small addition, say three quid, suggesting in writing that they have sufffered no loss and the additional three pounds is enclosed for their administration cost. You wont hear from them again.

not been down for years think last time I went was on bike after the Brighton burnout .. mate said they closed it off for health and safety reasons

we used go down when it was windy and bet on who could run outside the arch the longest without a wave coming over the top and soaking you .. before they put all the blocks along the back and messed our fun up

The owner of this cove & car park is Roy Stevenson.
Parking is enforced by Searchlight Security and Parking Solutions which is also owned by Roy Stevenson.
They are well known for over zealous enforcement of minor parking indiscretions & also enforce the parking at Lizard point.
My OH has been issued a £100 charge for over staying by 15mins, needless to say they won't be receiving it!

Although on the other hand.... it's their carpark, they can charge what they like.

either don't use it, or buy the correct ticket/s in the first place Rolling Eyes

Sadly it's owned by the French who have also closed the only sandy beach for miles around Sad I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

The guy is a knob!
He has contravened BPA codes of conduct by using non-uniformed staff in unmarked vehicles, to give out parking penalties disproportionate to any possible loss that may have been incurred & has used terms or wording which suggests the car park is managed by a statutory authority.
He then claims the proceeds from the car park are to repair the coves quay, although he has stated in the past that usually 25% of revenue from parking goes back into the cove.
Maybe if he didn't treat the Coves visitors with such contempt more people would visit.
If you do want to visit this cove, park at the next car park along the coast & walk via the coastal path!

when I was there and the young woman dressed like tourist was walking round checking the tickets on cars we were going to go in the cafe . but left as it was winding me up watching the money grabbing going on , so the cafe lost my custom because of the parking and has ever since .

there used to be years ago a old boy in a hut where the ticket machine is now and if weather was bad he would charge half price if you were going down fishing etc .. old saying springs to mind half a loafs better than none

they don't get my money any more

Still love the story of the bloke in Bristol who took payments for tickets in one of the Hospital (I think) carparks. Always there, polite, helpful not like the to**er in Corwall. However after 15 years of being there every day,mhe disappeared. When people enquired who they should pay, neither the Hospital nor the Council were aware of anyone having taken payment or there ever having been an official employee on site. Each said it was the other's responsibility. It was estimated he walked away with well over a million in cash. Clever boy.... Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

If you read the details of my original post I emailed the parking company as the time and date stamp on his photographic evidence was incorrect....the date was wrong ( there is a link on your ticket )
I stated that he had contravened BPA codes of conduct and as such if he applies for your details via DVLA he commits serious breaches if he does so having not complied with such codes of practice...a simple email pointing this out may just end up with a reply stating that is the end of the matter..
If as you state he wasn't wearing uniform this may be something you could do similar...
However, this guy isn't daft....as the video shows he know what he is doing and ultimately he knows he is acting lawfully...he is probably wearing a shirt with a logo on. I.e. A uniform...
At the end of the day it's his land and he is allowed to charge ....by the way, welcome !!!!
I take it you are into Defenders ???

About right for the Cornish. Want the Emmets for income, hate them for ruining Cornwall so abuse them and fleece them of money. For parking, over priced ice cream, pasties Laughing
