Come on, let's not have a "I've got one over on you" war. Everybody makes the occasional mistake and as long as it's best avoided beforehand if it does happen it's rectified to completion there should be no further issue.
Even more so with a refund and offer to rectify the work done also.
Back on subject, I think Chris has made a mistake here and at least has the bottle to accept it but equally make very good attempt to rectify it.
Both of you Matt & Chris know I have made purchases from both of you and I personally have been very happy.
You are both capable of doing a very good job and also everybody is capable of making a mistake. Which does include you too Matt and even myself.
I'm not biased between either of you but let's not get personal and squabble please.

I'm half and half as to whether this thread should be put up but Chris could do better on this one really, but as I said and I'll say it again Chris has made every effort to sort it out which is about all he can do at this stage which could have ideally been avoided.

Let's keep this forum one of the best and not get bit chy about things and keep it informative only and discuss things thoroughly without having a pop at each other like on LZ No Guts, No Glory.

This forum is about shared experiences, good and bad. This particular section is to allow feedback on dealers and sponsors, so where's the problem? Stratstones and other dealers get their ears bent so why shouldn't Killer? Feedback both positive and negative help a prospective customer to make an informed choice. I would probably still use Killer, but I would want the work guaranteed. The prices for Waxoyl seem very cheap compared to others out there and the old addidge of buy cheap, buy twice rings true. If you want any job doing right, do it yourself!

Good comment above too, when a job by another person is undertaken it involves either a quote for the job our hourly rate.
In reality things don't always fall into time frames which why often prices rocket or more co only jobs rushed or bodged.
When you DIY you can spend as much time as you see fit FOC to do things to perfection.
I don't like people working on mine at all unless it's beyond my capabilities but if I am capable I will do it. And I am much happier with things that way too. No Guts, No Glory.

You are right Eric, I had the same issue with a company here (not CSK!), it is not possible to do a (even just a biannual) Dinitrol job in 2 hours. We now agreed to leave the truck for 3 days to allow thorough steam cleaning, drying and finally Dinitrolling. You pay the price but at the end we both are happy.
I complained to them with photographs but did not put them on a forum, case was solved by repeating the job properly allowing more time and attention to to detail.
Just used them again and will recommend them also, as that was clearly a one time mistake en will not happen again, I am sure. Cheers, Vincent

couldn't agree more with some of the comments already posted;

- Chris has done all he can post the work being done (which far enough is below par) but he's in it to make money. perhaps the truck was proper dirty and the owner was hoping to great a great deal in which case I believe there's an element of blame there too

- perhaps Killer's price's should be 'from £250' which then takes into consideration any particularly dirty trucks which will require extra time to clean.

- I think also there's an element (it may only be small) of you get what you pay for?

- I don't know how Chris's price's compare to others but if they are significantly cheaper then perahps Chris need's to review this and customers perhaps need to be a little more realistic.

I constantly come up against clients who expect a top job for bottom dollar. Lets all be realistic and remember why Chris and all the other sponsors are doing what they're doing.......they're looking to make a living and not running a charity for the members.

Simple, if you turn up with peanuts then all you will get is monkeys! Rolling with laughter

Yet another post which will no doubt be removed, 10/10 to CSK for the highest number of post being removed, that must be some sort of record. Thumbs Up

As for the photos, well personally I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I had done a job like that, let alone have the photos of my poor work shown to all. (The perfect way of advertising your company) Laughing

CSK, it may be your business, it may be your building, blah, blah, blah but turning work out like that won't pay the bills.

Perhaps if you spent a little more time on attention to detail and not posting juvenile pictures when people are trying to help you may do a little better.

Didn't you have the correct PPE and ended up with Dinitrol in your eyes, is this the reason why you missed more than you sprayed. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I have never used CSK however it looks like he has tried his best to resolve the matter and he has held his hands up.

I agree that this time of year is bound to present a lot more issues when treating the underside of your vehicle. I would be disappointed and a little upset if it was my vehicle particularly with the overspray.

But personally when i have issues with any service i tend to give a second chance to fix it the job after all we all have bad days.

Looks to me like someone wanted a Roll Royce for the same cost as a mini.

If you want a top $ job, you need to pay top $ price's

Sorry chap Sad

On the plus side what you have had done has cost you zip due the the refund

I'd say the base price needs to be increased and more time/less profit to ensure proper coverage, but this may need to be reflected in the price going up

Regards

Les

I don't see how the OP is at fault here. He went to a business and enquired about a service. He says he was told it would be washed dried and sprayed.
The pictures tell a different story.
If Chris didn't inspect the vehicle before accepting the job en that's his fault. I agree he is out to make a living from this and for that I applaud him, but you can't expect to do a job improperly, give a refund and hope that it will go away. If that was true Stratstones would be as good as every other dealer.
I don't know what deal was done between the OP and CSK, would Chris of been so quick to refund if he was informed that pics would be going on the forum???

What is funny is the 2 formers that have the same background to me have exactly the same thoughts. They couldn't sleep at night knowing they had completed work to this standard.

I think it all comes back to the 7 P's.

If the issue is time of year then there are 2 solutions, heated workshop where cars can be washed and dried properly before spraying or don't do it at this time of year. Very simple easy to implement. But if you are chasing a quick profit then you roll the dice with the quality of work you produce. 110 D250 SE HT

I don't understand how if it's a main agent and they do something wrong everyone bays for blood, but if it's an independent the attitude is different..... I took my new 110, the day after I collected it from the dealer, to a chap local to me for Waxoyl treatment, it was brand new, clean, shiny and dry. The chap who did the work talked to me about where it was going to go and how it was going to get there (did I want any holes drilled etc.) and I was charged a fair bit more than Killer charged the OP. After the treatment I was shown underneath and asked if I wanted any more anywhere else. I was very happy and would recommend the chap to anyone (it took him four hours to complete, again on a new vehicle). The same chap did my Mother-in-laws aged 90 (which was in a right old state...), took him longer and a day later he rang up and said could we drop it back round as he'd forgotten to do the back door (which is sh***ed anyway) - so everyone does make the odd mistake.

Equally anyone who runs their own business who says they have never mucked something up or had a customer who is, for whatever reason, unhappy with the service they have received is very lucky....

I have not been on this forum long so I do not understand the jibes about Killer having posts removed but I would think it would be a great shame to be removing genuine posts about an independant but not the countless negatives about the main dealers, reading the full post will allow anyone to make up their own minds and I doubt it will be too bad fr business and may improve service maybe? Even if the price may have to go up.

It may be a good idea for the OP to look arround at places to get the chassis steam cleaned with some sort of detergant to remove all of the Dinitrol that was applied here before it fully hardens to the chassis.

Id hate to think that after all the best will in the world to protect the chassis all that has been done is to cover up all the road grime and road salt with this "mist" of black, and infact its now actually covering up salt and crap from the roads allowing it to sit silently eating away at the chassis of which now cant be seen due to the blasck mist covering it. The next thing is when the holes start to show and its to late!

Though I agree im anal when it comes to chassis protection when I did my NEW 110 I steam washed it of which it didnt really need as it only had 50 miles on, then left it in a heated workshop for hrs to fully dry before contemplating a Waxoil application. (My prefered)

I ended up using nearly 5x 5L cans (applied warm) to ensure ALL areas were covered inside and out with an application I was personally happy with, I appreciate most dont go to this extent and apply as much as I did. But hey, its a 30K car so spending a little more on overdoing it wont harm.

Pete
