Under body snorkel
Hi all, in a few days I'm taking ownership of a new 90 pick up Very Happy
I like to be a little unusual where I can be, so was thinking - if a "raised" air intake could be made ( by me) that comes outa the bottom of the engine bay, along the chassis rail and up the rear cab , would this restrict the airflow too much ? I am aware a company does/ use to mana fracture one that runs through the bulkhead and through the inside of the passenger foot well etc, but there's precious little room in a 90 as it is, and I don't want to chop holes in the bulk head just yet a whilst

Any input welcomed folks Thumbs Up

What would be the benefit compared to the "normal" snorkel? Question Cheers, Vincent

Purely aesthetics Very Happy
And "everyone " has one that runs up the windscreen pillars,
Of course there maybe a very good reason and "everyone" is right for doing so Thumbs Up

That's a fairly common conversion on challenge motors, some people take the snorkel through the cab but I prefer to keep it below the tunnel. The main advantage is that it prevents the snorkel being ripped off by trees but also improves visibility. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

The shorter and the straighter the air-intake, the better. 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

Don't you also need to mount the end high to avoid investing water otherwise you might as well stay with the under bonnet air intake.
