What would be the benefit compared to the "normal" snorkel? Cheers, Vincent

And "everyone " has one that runs up the windscreen pillars, Of course there maybe a very good reason and "everyone" is right for doing so |

That's a fairly common conversion on challenge motors, some people take the snorkel through the cab but I prefer to keep it below the tunnel. The main advantage is that it prevents the snorkel being ripped off by trees but also improves visibility. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

mine through the cab with several bends just use largest pipe you can get away with, i am running 90mm. Cheers

i have a through cab snorkel with the airbox mounted in the back, piped all in 3" pipes with a tractor prefilter on top to help out the main air filter 110 XS DC M57 + 8 Speed auto

Don't you also need to mount the end high to avoid investing water otherwise you might as well stay with the under bonnet air intake.
