Not totally, I'm afraid that I have leanings towards the original post. My biggest gripe is the use of "text speak", I suppose that I must put it down to my age and education as I often find it difficult to decipher the gist of what the person is trying to say. Generally I just glaze over and switch my attention to something else, if I find something difficult to comprehend I just move on.

News readers saying 'seckertree' instead of secretary. 'Train station' instead of 'railway station'. 'Movie' instead of 'film'. I could go on - and on! One wife - livid

A couple of things I don't like.
mostly young girls talking & saying, we were "like" really upset. (always using the word "like") Also people saying they can get something "for free".

The funniest posts are those that have been typed on an ipad or similar and where the machine is clearly the senior partner in the relationship. Some folks really need to make better use of the preview button Rolling with laughter Darren

Not so sure about that predictive text translation - looks more like something the cat types.

The whole point of language is to communicate. Provided that people can understand what's being said, what does it matter whether they spell or punctuate correctly? Imagine the contributions that would be missed if we gave the impression that there was a minimum acceptable level of proficiency in English, particularly some of our members were English isn't their first language!

I learned English quite late (when I have 26 more less). So, maybe you can forgive me if I have grammar/orthography problems.

But if you have problems with the Spanish I will not complain Mr. Green

Cheers! Eduardo
