Not quite. There are three parallel pots in the throttle position sensor (two on early vehicles) doing different things (one supplies a dropping voltage and one an increasing voltage as the pedal is pressed - so the sum of both should be steady at 12v so that the two pots can be validated, plus the third pot), so it isn't straightforward.
You could perhaps modify a throttle position sensor to turn it into a hand throttle, but you'd still have to switch between the two somehow. I believe that there is a genuine hand throttle option for the TD5 Defender and Disco available from Landrover, but for reasons never adequately explained it is massively expensive, over a grand! |

Have you come across the calibrated length of wood to jam between the pedal and seats this wonderful item can be found propping up all manner of things it can check brake lights tooooo. |
