One more thing to fit in the Landy and this time it is a genuine td5 rev counter gauge. YAE100790.
I have checked most forums and therefore I would like to recapitulate and have your final say in this forum which I trust much. I am now sure that I don’t have no Grey/white wire in the black plug, on pin number 19 I have an empty slot Click image to enlarge I will use croytec wiring loom for that purpose, from one end is the pin that gets into the ECU black plug and works all it way to the dash board following the main loom trajectory. Click image to enlarge Once this is set I will be moving the temp guage and the fuel guage accross, so that the rev counter could sit next to the speedo Well my doubts are in the next step which is the 5 terminals on the REV Live and Earth - For illumination, from the fuel gauge ( I will cut into the - & + wires from the fuel tank illumination) Live and Earth - Ignition controlled, ( I will cut into the - & + wires from the fuel tank ignition ) Click image to enlarge Is this ok?? I will be doing the above because I read that I cannot use the positive of the clock because it is always live and that the negative can be used for earth, couldn’t make out what it the brown wire for in the clock? Click image to enlarge The clock plug is unique I want to keep the plug for the center croytec pod system (will cut and make and extention) Signal from ECU will be the other extremity of the loom that will plug in from side in the ECU and on the other end in the rev. Thanx for your opinion on the illumination and ignition wiring if it ok.... Happy Travel www.thegippo.wordpress.com |

What you say is OK
Taking power, illumination and ground from another nearby gauge is the way to do it. You need to add a pin to 19 on the black ECU plug - it does look like this is empty on yours. This goes to the terminal "2" on the rev counter with Croytec's long grey wire. The clock's wiring is: BLACK: 0V for clock and illumination RED/ORANGE: illumination 12V PURPLE/BROWN: permanent (always live) 12V 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
