I know you can get ecu's that don't look for the Alarm ecu (a10?) but you always have to programm the injectors a.f.a.i.k. Roel

Yes, plenty of people can now supply these ECU's with the immo bypassed, so do not require the ECU to be 'Synced' to your vehicle. I personally don't think it is a good idea to have one fitted to your own vehicle.
Unless someone supplied this company with all the injector codes for your vehicle or you have programmed them yourself, then it will probably be running the wrong codes and may even be on the wrong engine calibration for your vehicle. I would start by checking these things first. I believe Hawkeye has the functionality to do this. |

I've just taken the original discovery spec MSB ecu off of my 90 (and fitted a proper NNN flashable type, with the proper defender software)
My jerky throttle has gone and it's like a proper defender again.... all smooth and nice. It was really jerky before. |

Thanks guys, i found the guy on ebay that supplies the ecus and he says he programs a neutral set of injector codes-whatever that means and that the correct codes will make little difference, diesel jim that sounds like something i may well try, where did you get your ecu from may i ask?? it appears that hawkeye can code the injectors as long as i remove the rocker cover to get them. A bypassed immo doesn't sound great but i can live without it. My defender does seem to run smooth enough all bar the jerkyness in 1st but surely the correct codes will make things better?

Just to inform anyone who may have also bought or is thinking of buying a plug play ECU, the nutrual injector codes work just as well as the proper codes. more wasted time lol. Diesel Jim do you notice any difference in your anti stall with the nnn ecu. I honestly think a nnn ECU is the only way to improve my situation

There is no reason why the proper MSB ECU wouldn't work with your 10p engine (assuming that's what you still have fitted?)
The NNN is flashable which makes remaps easier but if proper running isn't what your trying to achieve then the NNN isn't the fix. www.td5.org |

Just to add, the MSB ECU that my 90 was running, was a discovery spec one, hence why the throttle was so jerky (and temp guage was back to front)
@ sandylands.... to be honest, not noticed much difference in the antistall. although i've not really tried it in anger yet. the idle is much smoother though (running the defender software as opposed to the disco) |
