Interlet, if you're talking about fitting the RAM mount to a TD5 or TDi dash, I will post some pictures later.
The lower dash rail isn't strong enough to take the weight of mount+iPad, so I made a simple Ali plate that fastens between the upper and lower dash rails. It's as solid as a rock and very simple. Looking at the ram uk site, would a 1.5 inch ball be suffice to hold an iPad stable or should I go bigger. 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

1.5" is fine for ipad, toughbook etc.

Just looked back at my order from RAM and this is what I got:-
