The brackets for the A-Bar are not complex. Any decent fabricator would be able to manufacture a set of extended brackets to bring the A-Bar out further. With all the different fixings available and the fact the grill can be fitted after the A-Bar lower brackets have been secured (by leaving the top brackets off) and the A-Bar in place it wouldn't be too difficult. What he will need are a set of originals to work from.
I had to do the same to 'make' my bumperette fit after fitting a swing away wheel carrier and had to have completely different brackets made and welded into place. Straight brackets... Beautiful car, Ken!
I suspect the answer is that the stealer couldn't be bothered and was rushed for workshop time , however, if I can get the A bar on then that opens up a whole load of oprioins and means i can put something decent on the front without worrying about height. Were there any fixing problems (possibly spacers or some adaptations) with your grill and does the A bar sit right up against the grill or is there enough space behind> |

Thanks K9F....maybe I am giving the stealer a bit of a hard time....probably could go to an indie or a specialist and see what they can achieve!
Lovely car, BTW! |

The Flatdog light bar could be mounted further forwards to give more clearance...here's mine (but with normal LR PIAA spots):

I think you may be right as if you look at the link below of an SVX grill the mounting points for the lower A-Bar brackets are clearly visible and with the grill off readily accessible. https://s3-eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/i.hubnu...2248c9.jpg Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Yup easy fit
Click image to enlarge LR standard spots need the modified brackets to fit and without padding, touch and rub the grill and are a pants light compared with my JW Seaker headlamps. Light force 170 look like they'll fit well or copy kens smart led light bar  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Formerly mao99999 16 Focus RS Nitrous Blue. 11 FFRR TDV8 Vouge SE Black Black. 08 DEFENDER SVX SOFT TOP (SUPERB) 08 DEFENDER 110 DCPU Stornoway grey (Overland Exploration Unit) 05 Fiesta ST 150 Van 04 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Supercharged V8 02 DEFENDER 90 TD5 (next years soft top project) 95 DEFENDER 110 CSW 300 TDi Phoenix black 95 DEFENDER 90 HT Monti Carlo blue COUNTY 300 TDi 67 109" SERIES 2a TUNED 200 TDI 64 DAVID BROWN 990 rat look 55 86" SERIES 1 |

Mao - which JW lights did you go for? Black or chrome and do you have better pics showing the front of car?
I am in the process of deciding which I prefer and you have the same set up as me. Thanks |

couple of other options ...
1. fit rigid industry dually d2's inside the bumper 2. replace the 90mm spots with H9 HIDs or man up and buy a rigid industry e-series 40" LED bar, 16k Lumens, bullet proof and blinding |

I went for the black as that's all that was availible with the side lamp at the time. If I was to choose again I would probably go for the chrome as it would match better with the other lamps. I'd like to fit led aux lamps also. I've no more photos to hand but I'll take a couple of shots of the front come the weekend as it's stored away for the winter. RFAA, since you are based in North Yorkshire how about coming to the Spring Adventure at Harrogate this coming weekend?
There you will be able to see a lot of different light combinations. Speaker LED headlights v Lightforce v Lazer lights on our stand. Decent lights can be a reasonable investment so take your time and get as much information and compare lights as possible. Brendan |
