Mirror door hinge removal?
My passenger mirror arm is a little loose and could do with tightening, looking at it i presume i have to remove the upper door hinge to get to it.

Does it fasten into a 'captive nut' on the door (welded on?) or is there a 'loose nut' behind that will disappear forever into landrover hell if I undid the screw from the outside without removing the door panel? Whistle

If you take the door trim off and open the window you gan get to the nuts at the back of the top hinge. Just undo the two on the door side of the hinge itself and the hinge will swing out with the mirror attached with two screws from the inside of the hinge.
Hope that made sense

yes nut on the door inside are loose. the ones on the bulkhead are captive, but it is best to undo the door ones. so you dont have to reset the position of the door.

loctite the arm bolts back in too. Cheers

When you've taken the trim off close the door and then undo the hinge bolts so the door doesn't need re-adjusting. When you've done the mirror just bolt it all back together before you open the door.
