Creating a Photo Album and Uploading Pictures
Here's some instructions of how to create your own photo gallery and upload photos to it Smile
  1. First, make sure you are registered and logged in.

  2. Click the "Gallery" link in the top banner, under the Defender2 logo

  3. Click "Create/order my albums under the menu bar

  4. Click the "New" button

  5. If you want to change the album name, highlight the whole default name

  6. Type in your required gallery name, and press "Apply Modifications"

  7. In the messagebox window, press "OK"

  8. Press the "Continue" button.

You will now have an album to fill with photos. You can repeat the steps above to create multiple albums.

Now, to upload photos:

  1. Click "Upload Photos" on the menu bar

  2. Click the top "Browse" button

  3. Find the file you want to upload, and press "Open"/"OK".

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each photo you wish to upload, up to a maximum of 5 - if you want to upload more than five photos you should repeat the whole upload procedure until all photos are uploaded.

  5. Click the "Continue" button

  6. Click the "Continue" button once the uploading to the server completes

  7. For each photo you'll have a form to fill in. If you have multiple albums, use the Album field to select which album you wish to put each photo in.

Fill in as much, or as little, information as you want in the rest of the form, and then click "Continue".

  8. Finally, click "Continue" to finish adding photos to your album.

Martin, I followed your guidelines step by step, but still failed to upload pictures into a new created gallery. Is it maybe not possible to upload pictures directly from the "Pictures libraries" on a laptop? Can it only be done via one of those internet picture sites? You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Not as straight forward as a PC !

You'll have to create a photo bucket account, which works with iPad. Using your ipad you then save photos into photobucket. Then you can add photos from phobicbucket to your posts.

Once youve done it once it quick and easy.. 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top

The photo bucket app works well with the iPad. Then its just a case of pasting the image link.

You can load into your Defender2 gallery directly from your iPad - when you get to the Choose File bit you click on Choose File and you get a 2 option clicks menu either Take Photo or Video OR choose Existing - if you click on Existing then you get a menu with several options/albums, choose whichever your photo is in, then choose the photo you want. After that it is the same as uploading from a normal PC or Mac.

Then only problem I've found is that if you want to post a pic from your gallery into a post, it isn't possible to 'copy' just the URL as you do on a PC/Mac as when you select / copy it copies all the formatting from the web page instead! So when you then paste in your post it just puts a load of we page formatting in and not your chosen URL. Not found a way around that yet! Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

I did not now that. Tried it, but unfortunately it does not work on my (old) iPad (1), but it does work on my wife's new iPad mini Crying or Very sad

I don't quit get that... In the file information below the pic, you can copy the BBcode url ? Works great.

For other pics, not in your gallery but on any web page: if you select/copy the pic and paste it in the browsers url bar (new browser tab), then you can copy the pic's url and paste it to where you want... Cheers, Vincent

On my iPad2 I can't seem to copy the URL bit - if I touch/hold on the URL and get the Copy/define/speak menu, if I choose Copy it highlights the whole of the box/line from where it say "bbcode" then all the way to the other end of the we page. I have tried to define the selected area but it just won't let me select just the URL to copy. If I ask it to Speak it just says "bbcode" and does not read out the URL, so same as when I try to copy the whole line, it just copies the web page coded elements and not the URL.

Had a play just now though and noticed that if I tap on the photo it opens in a new browser window and I can then easily copy the URL from there to add to my post - but unfortunately that doesnt work properly either! Although the URL is exactly as it is in the bbcode window in my gallery, it doesn't display the pic in my post.

Will have another play and see if I can make it work somehow! Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

Guys, the gallery does not play well with iPads (due to Apple's insistence of doing things their own way).

The upload only works with very new iPads (running iOS6) as Apple made it more compliant.

I will keep working to solve these issues, the tap for BBCode is particularly annoying and proving difficult to fix properly.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

This means that the gallery can not see your forum login. Try logging out of the forum and in again, then visit the gallery (and let me know).  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
