Plastic trays under seat boxes?
That's the chassis treated with Dinitol - bring on the road salt!

There are 2 plastic "trays", on the outside of the vehicle, under the front seat boxes (2012 110 Utility). Anyone know what these are supposed to do? Are they to prevent stone chips, or just to collect crud underneath and accelerate body work corrosion? 😉 Not that I'm cynical or anything! I removed them, treated the bodywork then replaced them... tempted to just leave them off. 300 TDi 110 CSW

2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
exactly that - protect the underside, reasonably new addition to the build, my 07 puma does not have it, my '10 plate does

I put some closed cell insulation in mine in an attempt to insulate the battery box for my arctic trip earlier this year

Like the idea of putting some thermal protection in for cold weather!

I think the front mud flaps should give me enough protection from stones - I'll check in a year how much crud accumulates and decide if I want to keep them on... 300 TDi 110 CSW
