Anyway, cutting the tweeter holes in the top of the dash went easier than I thought. Using Jim's method (earlier in this thread) I 'hand cut' the foam before using the 45mm hole saw on the metal. Mine was pretty blunt but went through with a bit of persuasion. A little bit of filing to straighten the holes up and they were good enough

The tweeters then pushed down into the holes with a nice tight fit

I then connected up both of the cross overs and fitted them securely in position. Next I fitted the facia bezel thing and the HU cage ready for the moment of truth. I connected up the HU and turned the power on.

I put in a CD and amazingly sound came out of all 4 speakers! Mr. Green I was quite surprised that it worked perfectly first time, but there you go Thumbs Up No photos of me dancing around the Landy like a lunatic to Ian Dury And The Blockheads unfortunately, but maybe that's not a bad thing.

And it sounds great! It was definitely with going for the 5" components I reckon Thumbs Up
I just need to decide on the display colour and I'll be done............for now Whistle

The help and advice I've received off this forum has been fantastic Thumbs Up Thumbs Up I probably wouldn't have attempted this by myself without it, but so glad I did. It's been really rewarding and I actually enjoyed doing it. Special thanks to barbel jim and custom steve for their time and help via PM Bow down

Now then, how about a sub? Laughing Mr. Green

This is a really helpful thread, as I have just bought a TD5, which has also never had a stereo in it, so also has the big "cubby hole" where the HU needs to go.

Can you tell me where you bought the "facia bezel" - did you have to go to Land Rover or did you manage to find an aftermarket one??

Thanks

Hi CEEGEE, I got mine off eBay in the end as there happened to be one going when I looked. But if you search the web there are a few different places selling them. Make sure you get the 2 x wire retaining clips with it aswell Thumbs Up

I'm glad you found this thread useful Thumbs Up As you can see, there's people on here who are more than happy to help with any questions you have. I found this a massive help. I was very wary of cutting the dash and stuff but the people on here guided me through it with some great advice and tips. Any questions, just ask Thumbs Up
