Hi all,
I need to check the thermostat in my 3.5L V8 as I think it is sticking. Temp gauge gets higher for a while then suddenly drops to regular temp. Does anyone know if I can pull the thermostat without draining all of the coolant? Thanks Tim Series II in pieces 1984 Defender 110 (3.5l V8 now 300TDI) |

So just to follow up in case anyone else wants to know. You don't need to drain the coolant to check the thermostat on a 3.5L V8 Rover engine. Two bolts on the front of the engine where the top rad pipe comes in and its out.
Also.....check the coolant level (of course ) before you go through this process......thermostat is fine, coolant was about too low...... Tim Series II in pieces 1984 Defender 110 (3.5l V8 now 300TDI) |
