Changing checking thermostat
Hi all,

I need to check the thermostat in my 3.5L V8 as I think it is sticking. Temp gauge gets higher for a while then suddenly drops to regular temp. Does anyone know if I can pull the thermostat without draining all of the coolant?

Thanks

So just to follow up in case anyone else wants to know. You don't need to drain the coolant to check the thermostat on a 3.5L V8 Rover engine. Two bolts on the front of the engine where the top rad pipe comes in and its out.

Also.....check the coolant level (of course Embarassed ) before you go through this process......thermostat is fine, coolant was about too low......
