How does that work, I swear my aerial which is standard (although on the Censored quite a bit) is lower than my roof line!!!????

Not being funny but have you checked each section is fully extended - lower sections can stick before being fully extended, especially if you pull it up from the top.

I'll look in the morning. I'm usually pretty aggressive when I pull it out...it certainly won't last, and I expect I'll be getting a replacement soon! 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Well, mine clearly is not. When I drive into my office car park, the fully extended aereal just touches to entry door, but the rear of the truck misses it by several centimeter..... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I guess my aerial is pretty bent and twisted then. I know it's not in the best of nick, but mine sits about an inch or so short of the roof! Useless thing!! Twisted Evil 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Then extended the standard aerial out, cut it off quite low down, screwed in this new aerial into the exising one. Crimped it tight and pushed the remains of the standard aerial back in.

Works a treat and looks so much better.

I'll take a close up photo, but you can see it on this photo

Yes, Tiger, it was yours that I stole! Laughing

Grockle, yes it's Bonsall. I had just done some lanes and stopped to use the public toilets. Needed after the very narrow lane (Moor Lane) we'd just gone down....... Shocked Craig Rogers

I like the standard old fashioned arial I think it fits well with the timeless image of the defender. I have put thought toward mounting a CB ariel of similar size on the opposing arch in the same place giving a symetrical set up. Also as another member pointed out the top of that standard ariel is a height indicator as with nothing on the roof on standard springs the top is I think just over level with the peek of the roof si

I installed the Blaupunkt antenna but did not want to have it at the the top side of the front window and therefore put it on the down side: reception is alsmost useless. Any good experiences with the Blaupunkt or any other window antenna? 2021 Defender 110 D300 HSE
