2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Oslo Blue
Replacing glow plugs
Any hints or tips on doing the above job? Local dealer put wind up me saying that they sometimes shear off, leaving stub in the head. Are they difficult to get at?

I changed mine in an engine I rebuilt. Used a deep reach socket (think it was 10mm)

As you mentioned, they seemed quite fragile and it looked like they would shear off easily if you were ham fisted

I wonder if it would help if the engine was hot before un-doing them?

A few other forums for other cars have suggested a nice hot engine and some penetrating fluid might also help. 1999 Defender TD5 110
