..my apology folks, but can you put some light for me on to term used 'red diesel'..what exactly are you referring to??

"Red diesel" is the colloquial term for diesel fuel which has not had the tax for use on the road paid on it, and as a result is much cheaper than road diesel fuel. It is dyed a red colour and has other trace chemicals added so that its imporper use can be detected by the Customs & Revenue people.
Penalties for using low-tax fuel on the road in this country are very severe, and the enforcement officers have more powers of entry and search than the police. |
