CB licence
Do i need a "commercial" CB licence to actuallly buy one that fits in this catagory? I want to buy a couple of hand helds in this catagory due to improved power and range. Just wondered if i technically needed the licence first in order to buy?? If you get what i mean...!

I don't know 100% but for the higher wattage output so longer range ones you may need a liesence to use it

I like I said I really not sure , but did have bit to do with VHF boat radios when we had boats

There is no license fee on a 4 watt UK or European (40/80 channel) FM CB.
More powerful sets are illegal.

So that means my 50w burner is illegal to use or own or what? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Illegal to use (if caught - but I suspect the chances are slim if you do not cause interference to anyone) Smile

The details of CB radio requirements are here

I have always used a company called Thunderpole for my CB radios and two way radios.

Copied from there help page. http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/cb-radio-guide.html Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.
