I had a similar problem in a Discovery I when my kids were small. I solved it with a seat belt extender from, I think, Securon. Darren

I'll have a look today. Cheers 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |

What seat? Im using Maxi Cozi, and with a bit of careful routing, I can get it in with or without the isofix base. Also just moved up to the forward facing seat, and that goes in the front, not tried it in the back yet (domain of the K9s...)

Never had problems with Maxi Cosi seats in the Defender.
Do have a bloody problem with the belt of a Subaru as those really are short as hell! Got the bloody seat out eventually, but the seatbelt was wound up and locked. Can't pull it out any more... |

Not sure if you are aware, but some seatbelts have a function for fitting child seats whereby, when you fully extend the belt, it engages a mechanism that only allows the belt to retract, like a ratchet. To disengage, you must un clip and allow it to fully retract. Perhaps this is the case for you...

Cheers Guys,
I had a look at the seatbelt but it doesn't appear to have any clips or bits to extend it. Looking at the manual only the front seat is suitable for the baby carriers. It's a Izi Go BeSafe carrier. I've had a look at the extenders and that looks like it would work fine. Cheers 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver |
