washer pump
Has anyone found a decent replacement pump for front windscreen washers?

I've changed my single nozzle for a dual setup, gets plenty more water on the screen,.but at a dribble instead of a jet.

What could I replace the pump with? If it'll fit into the "clip" in bit of the water bottle would be best, but can always adapt it to an external pump with some pipe and silicone.

You might have a problem with the none return valve at the n/s in front of the bulkhead or a kinked pipe as the standard pump works quite well when everything is set up. Ray

Cheers for that. I'm going to be stripping part of the dash down in a few months for some other jobs, so can have a gander whilst I'm in there, but I think the pump is underpowered anyway.

I might just scour the scrapyard and see what I can come up with (the washer bottle is leaking anyway where one of the pumps clips in, so its got to come out to be addressed anyway)

Reading Blackwolfs' contributions to the headlight washer thread, I think he's found a way of mounting a bigger pump from a D2 using an adapter made by Optimill. No idea of cost but may be worth a look. Darren

Here you go. On the left a Disco 2 headlight washer pump for the screen washers, on the right a Rover 45 headlight washer pump for the headlamp jets. I haven't fitted it yet so can't tell you how much better it is, but the pumps are much more powerful than the pathetic standard pump. The mounting hardware is from Optimill.
