Whilst our dealers (and mine) are ok - may have something to do with the fact there are a few of them and we a about 2minutes from LR, factory, testing and HQ! although ive had the same problem with the sump and will raise this when the below is taken as the first time they to fobbed me off,
Anyway - im having a problem (paint) went to the dealer who agreed to repair, repair was not very good (to be polite) went back, fixed but left overspray, went back finally fixed (i thought) noticed some minor issues...but igonored them as i could live with them. Anyway roof rack on and damage came straight back, so instead of ringing the dealership - i rang customer service, they contacted the dealer and as it was already booked in for Monday we shall see what the outcome is Monday PM. My point is that I will be giving the dealership their 4th chance to fix this and keeping LR customer service route open as im not going to take its fine from the dealer (they did wet themselves first time when i said i would speak to my uncle who is in charge of a research and development section and good friend with the "head" of body and white!) If you have problems give LR CS a call Mike |

I've had battles with LR CS in the past, it often needs persistence as they too are not averse to BS'ing.

The dealer has got mine in today to rectify a rain leak into the drivers footwell & leaking rear diff pinion oil seal. I took a copy of the tech bulletin and the guy said it was the first he knew about it. I said I would like the sump replaced, he asked if I had heard a knocking, I said no but it's going to get more hefty use over the shoot soon and so I don't want to wait until I've punched a hole in the sump, lost the oil and knackered the engine to be able to say yes

They investigated and reckon it's the door seal. New seal, pinion seal & flange kit and front exhaust pipe (though I reckon it's the pads rattling ) on order plus they are contacting LRCS about the sump.

Here we go. The dealer contacted Land Rover Customer Service who have said that as there are no witness marks they will not replace the standard sump with the modified so the dealer is telling me to ring LRCS myself.

My sump had NO marks on it at all and prop hadn't hit it or anything but still change it. well its a cheaper way to do it then fit a new engine after it hit and hole the sump let the oil out and F*** a good engine up hope this is of help to you Miserableolgit Dave |

Hello Dave,
I know Hunters in Lynn, I bought a couple of vehicles from them in the past. I wonder if Hunters would be so accommodating if you had not of bought the vehicle from them? Steve |

Well that's what you would think but the approach does vary from dealer to dealer.

Steve It would come under warranty work so would be charged to LR as a company. Ottons in Salisbury won't entertain the idea of changing the sump as I explained in the PM the other day. If you get any joy let us know. I know TJ101 got his changed at a dealer close to him but that was after LR told them to. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |
