Play in rear seats
On the MOT this year(and last year) the MOT guy picked up on slight play in rear seat backs.
The seats I have in my 1999 110 are the 3 way splitting types, you could say 33.3%/33.3%/33.3% folding seats.
I had a look at stopping the play but still have some. Any ideas on how to remove the play? or is there always going to be some play due to the design? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I HAVE THIS same issue, i stripped the plastic covers off and tried to locate a means to adjust . i was informed that theres a plastic spacer/washer that is designed to have a littel flex to damp out vibrations with out letting the back rest wobble about like ours are. i couldnt find this washer yet i did try to tighten everything up a little. ive never known a bench seat to feel so loose and unsafe i do hope that some one may have better advice as i need it too.

maybe some pics of this mystery spacer could help

Is this a washer/flexible thing at the base of seat at the back?

Ideally I would like the more modern seats with head restes but £££ is not available for that. 1999 Defender TD5 110
