I HAVE THIS same issue, i stripped the plastic covers off and tried to locate a means to adjust . i was informed that theres a plastic spacer/washer that is designed to have a littel flex to damp out vibrations with out letting the back rest wobble about like ours are. i couldnt find this washer yet i did try to tighten everything up a little. ive never known a bench seat to feel so loose and unsafe i do hope that some one may have better advice as i need it too.
maybe some pics of this mystery spacer could help |

Is this a washer/flexible thing at the base of seat at the back?
Ideally I would like the more modern seats with head restes but £££ is not available for that. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
