In my experience that means the immobiliser is still active.
Any immobiliser/alarm lamps active on the dash at all? There's the red LED in the speedo, plus the red engine symbol with a lightning bolt through it (this gets triggered when the immobiliser is not deactivated before starting). 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

No immobiliser lights. I can switch the immobiliser off with Hawkeye (I think - I switch it off but when you go back in it says it's on again).

Check the fuses on the bulkhead, particularly 8 -> 15. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

All fuses are good.
I noticed that if I run a wire from the alternator earth to the body I get a battery light but still won't turn over. |

What do they look like and where exactly are they. There was no earth that I could see on the transfer box, there is now because I put one on. transfer box -- chassis. |
