Best in Snow
Ok heres one for you, which is the best in snow, all on standard tyres.

Freelander 1
Freelander 2
Defender
Disco 1
Disco2
Disco 3 /4

I reckon as long as it's not too deep freelander 1 Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

You could be right with freelander 1 as long as it has ABS and tc.
I don't have experience with the freelanders but I think I personally would go for the D3.

But what is a Defender 2? I know the difference between a Land Rover and a Defender but when did the Defender 2 come in? Roel

I'd guess for normal road driving in the snow - Freelander - the lighter the better.
(One of the best cars for snowy roads was the old panda 4x4, light & on skinny tyres.)

Might be different choice for off-roading in snow... where ground clearance & articulation would be more relevant?

TBH any of them would be great in snow, not sure why the votes for the FL1 though, they are only part time 4wd and you have to rely on the viscous coupling locking up to give you traction at the rear, my D1 copes very well in snow, never had any issues at all and no TC fitted. Andy
