Hi,

you are quite right,

it looks to have about 1/4" low hypoid offset, ie the pinion bearing centre looks about 1/4" lower than the axle tube centre,

ours is more noticeable at 30mm

Dave,

This looks like a very interesting development!

Is the shorter propshaft that is required with this diff one that is available as standard on a different Landrover, or is it necessary to get one modified to suit? Will you be selling compatible propshafts?

Also, how would you rate the new diff in terms of strength compared to a standard P38 with an Ashcroft HD ring & pinion set (presumably the new diff is much tougher), and to a Rover pattern diff with an Ashcroft R&P set?

Finally, what sort of figure would you be looking at for an outright sale for one of these with an Ashcroft ATB fitted, together with a propshaft?

I have one of your ATBs with HD ring and pinion in the front axle of my 110 and was planning at some stage to upgrade the rear to a P38 with ATB and HD ring and pinion, but I am now thinking that this new diff might (subject to the price) be a better option. What would you recommend?

Thanks,

Roger

Where is this a assembly available in Australia please? Nothing suggests poor workmanship like wrinkles in the duct tape.

What was your final decision on the prop length? Reading the other post on the atb by tatra805 I am unsure what I need to install. Std or 31mm shorter . Have I miss read somewhere?

My setup. 2005 110
Old diff-p38 type
New diff-long rover with atb and adaptation plate.

I think I have a spare p38 rear prop in the garage but need to check the lenght( it is shorter but maybe too short) Range Rover p38 4.6 99 lpg(gone Sad )

if you are fitting the slighly longer nosed Ashcroft off set pinion diff then you need to take 31mm out of the length.

if yoiur just builing an ATB into a std diff then no change. Cheers
