I've notice a few guys on the forum appear to have these already.
Where do people end up storing them as they appear to be quite chunky and I wouldn't want to get whacked on the head by one if it all went pear shaped! The X-Eng version appears to be fixed to the floor and just flips up when required? |

Stash mine between the seats in the rear with a bungee. Initially they seem a pain in the butt, nevertheless once you've got the knack of fitting and storing it becomes 'second nature' and the 'comfortable feeling' you get knowing you've added that extra layer of security is well worth the small effort.
The reason behind a few members having them will be the 'group buy' that was orchestrated, quite a few took up on it, that's when I got mine. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic7162.html?highlight=adrenalin If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! You are correct with the X-Eng one. It is fixed to the floor, and folds down to the floor when unlocked.
It is a beautifully engineered thing and I love mine. It takes at MOST 3 seconds to lock, and about the same to unlock. And it won't smack you in the head or need tying down anywhere. the downside is I don't think it fits the puma defenders. |

The Adrenalin ones are superb bits of kit Very well made, secure locks, easy to put on and fiddly to take off (which is how it should be) John

X-Engineering pedal lock does NOT fit Series or Tdci / TD4 / Puma Defenders or Td5 with AirCon. I have been eagerly waiting for X-Eng to release one for the Puma, however I have just seen this from their site:
http://www.x-eng.co.uk/New_FAQ.asp?FAQID=45 I think this is a real shame. The beauty of X-eng's product is it sits on a hinge and folds out the way securely when not in use so as camelman pointed out it won't whack you on the swede when things go wrong! Assuming it doesn't breach any patents there must be an opening in the market for someone else to make a Puma version that folds away?? Eh Killer? |

@Mal: in the pics above of the Adrenalin lock, what's the slotted separate strip? Assume it's associated with the row of bolts in the bottom of the main guard? I've got a Shire Fabrications lock (which fits the bill great for me) which seems quite a lot simpler than the Adrenalin version, just intrigued as to the design of it.
I don't carry mine in the vehicle, just use it at home. Going to sort out a proper fixing / lashing for it at some point. I also have an X-Eng gear lever lock, which I use when out and about. Use the two in combination at home. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green |

The problem with security devices like this, as already mentioned, is storage. I was looking forwards to the X-Eng gear stick lock for the Puma, but gather there is a problem and so no such device will be available. I already had a 'DiskLock' which takes up quite a bit of space, and I also have a 'Hardcase' pedal lock for my Series One. I think to have both in a 90 would take up quite a bit of space unfortunately. Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....
