Today... I collected a selection of seals to fix my leaking transfer box and front diff, I also got the front tyres balanced (boy were they out...) and now the 110 runs smooth as silk.

I also had time to re-fit the mud flaps after removing them 4 years ago;

My 2.4 Puma has now cracked the 200bhp barrier - with 540Nm of torque at the flywheel (just over 150bhp/410Nm at the wheels).

It was making just over 560nm - but this is too much really :roll

This is still a standard engine - with only bolt on changes. I just need to get round to building a proper blue printed race spec 2.4 engine... but have something else to finish building beforehand.

Whats the life expectancy of the engine at that level of tune?

The engines are strong things when tuned properly...

This package ('IRB540 supersport') is really the limit for a standard engine, to go further than this will need a properly built blueprinted engine.

In all honesty, this power does have the capability of damaging the rest of the powertrain, so it does need to be driven properly...

And this much power and torque means you have to pay particular attention to the rest of the chassis - there is not point having power with control!.

It is like anything else, the engine needs to be looked after - warmed up and down, serviced regualarly, fed good quality diesel and it will last... With this level of tune, you would have to understand you are pushing the limits of the engine.
