Went to Salisbury for an ebay purchase, seemed too much of a temptation not to do any lanes on the way back home Rolling Eyes

Could have done without the April Showers though, made it a tadge slippy in places let alone getting soaked cooking the sausages while the kids and dogs were sat in the dry Evil or Very Mad

This stuff is a revolution by the way - http://www.meguiars.co.uk/product/194/Quik-Clay-Starter-Kit/

I didn't bother with the spray but just put the claybar in the bucket of soapy water, washed each panel, then rubbed the clay over the soap suds. The stuff that came off the car was surprising. I then just put a finishing wax to finish it off.

definitely safari 5000 suits more than the ''modern'' VUB500890 to a defender!!!
Steve, are they good enough?

They are good looking lights for sure. The only downside to them is the grill is fixed so you can't clean them very easily and that annoyed me somewhat when I had them on my 90... Rolling Eyes

They do for me mate. Long range search light types are wasted on me the way I drive!

Fitted dual 2.1amp USB sockets in the rear headlining (one on either side in front of the grab handles) and ran the necessary wiring back to the battery box. They'll be connected up once I fit the front ones in a Mud Puma Pod and wire them together. 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX

I too fitted dual USB sockets and also found a squeak thats been bugging me for weeks, it was the stud at the back of the radio which had no rubber on it and was rattling in the hole in the support behind the dash.

Spent the rest of the day bolstering up the security on the vehicle with both physical devices and electronic ones. Wink

Meguiars is brilliant stuff. I have the wash and wax already and heard great things about the clay kit / clay bars. Although never tried it myself. What does it do exactly? / How do you apply and use it? Embarassed Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes.

Steve

It removes the contaminates from the paint surface, small tar spots and the like.
Basic technique is take some clay and some lubricant, moisten the paintwork and wipe the clay over the surface in a straight line. You will see the clay turning dirty with all the rubbish it picks up. When it starts to get very dirty fold the clay into itself so you have a clean surface again and carry on.

Have a look on www.detailingworld.co.uk - the guys on there are fanatics !

Took the new truck on its first decent run, up the motorway to North Wales, all good. Went to watch the football this evening, and on the way back, just as it ticked over to 300 miles, there was a cough and a splutter, and into limp mode we went, with the engine warning light on the dash.

And so it begins... Sad 2013 Defender 110 XS DCPU

Fitted my birthday prezzie, an Albrecht AE6891 + stinger aerial.

I like the remote front panel and have mounted it where the ashtray used to be. The main unit is attached out of the way on the back of the cubby box.

Should come in handy when I'm next out on Salisbury Plain Very Happy
