On the upside I've had a good play in the snow around town. I pulled two cars out yesterday after I'd moved in. It must be a foot deep in places, and I haven't lost grip once! I thought MTs were supposed to be crap on snow

![]() desert... by Defender 90, on Flickr Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming... 'Wow...! What a ride! MY11 90 |

My 110 is just back from the dealers, just had a 36,000 service ... (actually has 16,000 miles)
New front mud flaps, new window catches and some paint. Great service from Ottons / Westover Salisbury ![]() |

As the temperature got above 3 degrees I decided to pull the 110 out of the garage and wash Salisbury plain off it from Sunday, finish cleaning the carpets and floor pans where the lovely muddy water got in under the doors
![]() Then once I could see my face in the body work I put it back in the garage and washed Salisbury plain off the drive ![]() I also finally got round to finishing fitting my CB and cable tidy. ![]() 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Out in the snow flurries I changed oil and filters. The damned fuel filter had allmost rusted through, every time I do it I think what a crappy place to put it. I then set about changing all the shocks and steering damper, why oh why did I decide to put the fuel tank for the Eberspacher and the solonoid for the winch in the way of the front nearside turret cover. Never mind all done now, certainly drives a lot firmer, front shocks had just about had it, well worth the change.
One thing I did notice was that when I emptied the fuel filter into a tundish there was some foreign liquid floating on the surface much like globules of mercury running loose on a bench. As I watched them they appeared to disperse back into the diesel. I suspect it was water as I haven't been able to drain the thing as the plastic drain bit was clogged with mud. |

Picked up a set of genuine new filters (oil, air & fuel) from my local friendly main dealer. Was shocked to learn that the list price for these three totals £96 now inc vat!
Fortunately my LFMD gives me a healthy discount which makes the shafting a little less painful. |

Mine came from one of the site sponsors, Defenderbits. I bought a couple of service kits off him last summer when they were at a really good price
