Think I should have replaced 'sensible' with 'boring' ha Having said that the Astra is an absolute steal (not literally!) and the Defender was a bit overpriced... |

Well today I thought I'd install the new head unit, speakers etc, however thought I'd best finish the sound proofing of the cab . Took everything out and cut to size, then tidied the odd cable in the battery box. Found some non Land Rover cables routed into the back of the Head unit, exactly the ones where I will connect the new temperature gauge:!: Followed them back to a strange black box, rely type configuration mounted on a black plastic panel fitted on side nearest the door also noted small cable runs out and up passenger door frame No idea what it is or does
Anyway ran out of time so seats, runners all sat in the garage with speakers etc. Still always tomorrow _______________________________ Puma Defender 90 |

You have PM re the black box
Stripped my interior today and gave a good clean, blacked the dash, door cards, floor covering and rear liner, vacuumed and generally tidied up inside. Started to lay out all the kit for the Norway trip ready for packing into the storage boxes. Will be cleaning outside next week starting with all the wheels off to remove the Salisbury glue. Only 17 days to the Northern Lights 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |

Re-arranged the bracket holding my Safari-Equip spare wheel carrier to the tub - it had started to stretch the rivet holes holding the corner rub capping causing movement and a geiger-counter-style ticking that was driving me potty. A couple of extra rivets and an extra bolt through the capping finally firmed things up...
After that I sorted out the central locking actuator on the offside rear door that had been tetchy lately. After much messing about realised the little bellows on the actuator was catching on the push rod and making it stick a bit. Whilst I was in there found quite a bit of rust so I thoroughly drenched the door frame in Dinitrol 3125. Then, if that wasn't enough, I started the job of soundproofing the rear after taking out the sodden rear carpet last week. Got the loadbay floor done but now need to do the seat boxes. Another day - or two... Nice having a decent day to crack on with stuff... Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

Changed the wheel on the wifes Focus as the tyre had a screw through the shoulder of the tyre, luckily I had one of the original tyres to hand that was going to be used as a spare when I get 2nd hand rim.
So, a tyre that was 3 months old is now binned! and tip run 4 bags of rubbish and one builders bucket of Lilly trimmings. All in the 110. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
