Painted the headlining a very fetching slate gray and repaired the sagging edges over the front doors with aluminium strips. As you do. Fully Restored 89 110 CSW V8

Washed the mud off the defender and put it into the garage Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Sorry this isn't really Defender related. My 110 and I ( ) fitted my new tax disc holder to my 1951 Ferguson TED-20. Her first tax disc since production in 1951. Number plates arriving soon...

Spent Saturday evening, all day Sunday at Peterborough. Bloomin' hot it was! As we were giving Brendan and Barbara a bit of help we were parked on their stand - with my Defender on the front at the roadside... all pretty and gleaming in the sunlight. Did I say it was hot?!!
Great time had by all, bought a 2" receiver hitch and extended drop plate for towing the caravan with my 90 (since fitting the big tyres and suspension lift my old drop plate is short by about 4 inches!). Dave bought a new headtorch from Alpkit (first time we've seen them at a show, but shopped online with them for a few years now - anyone who hasn't heard of them should check 'em out!) Other than that, met some nice peeps, managed to avoid sunburn and the Grand Prix results (watched when we got home at 9 pm). Spare a thought for Brendan though as he has a poorly red 110 - thought it maybe was cylinder head gasket - changed yesterday but still pressurising and looks like a warped head Hoping they got home OK today. Currently in a lay by on a1 waiting for the rac. Up to two hours they said 2 and a quarter hours ago. Then what's the betting they send a pokey little van and we will have to wait another two hours for them to send a vehicle that is up to the job.
Somehow I think my night out at clandestine cake club is not going to happen. Barbara |
