The rain fell down at Peterborough on Saturday.
The autojumblers containers filled with water! Went to collect an order from Exmoor Trim, paid for many weeks ago, and of course they got it wrong! On another stall I was sold 2 bolt-on galvanised cappings "for early Ninety doors". I have an early Ninety and thought they would be useful as spares, as you don't come across them often. But they were too short for the Ninety doors, and were in fact, for the middle doors of Series 109" Station Wagons and early One Ten Station Wagons. I have these, so they'll still come in handy. I picked up some useful stuff for my early Defender at the Show, including two complete front seats in undamaged grey vynil, which is exactly what I was looking for. So a good Show for me. Legin I was coming down the A1, A14 and M11 like you on Saturday pm in my Classic RR and the rain was so heavy, even the "suicidal" drivers had to slow to 50mph at times - it was completely impossible to see through the rain and spray otherwise. |

Don't tell him that it's hard enough to get his head through the door as it is Thanks he is our clubs current CCV top driver and has lead the RTV championship for a good few years, He is annoying good at trials and I used to be able to give him a run for his money but haven't CCV'd for a few years as my motor is having some TLC in my spare time. If I pm you my e-mail would you be ok to send me the pictures you have got. and are you ok if we use them for our clubs newsletter? I will make sure you get credited with them. |

I do believe it as 'Flymo' is quite special. I spent a bit of time in Neil's shed at various points in the build seeing how it was going and helping (kind of) spitball ideas on how to do it. I'll ping you a PM ASAP |

Neil is a very clever chap he created his own composite mixture to form panels and it is a credit to him. You can beat it with a hammer and they don't break or dent. that things only weighs circa 800 odd kilos. and the weight distribution is perfect too. you can lift it by hand front or rear a good foot or soo before it becomes too heavy to lift. The tricky bit to driving it is the reverse order of the gear shifter takes a bit of remembering to prevent going the wrong way. |

I have been very busy with mine lately.
Recently I repaired my old wheel arch spat which had a crack in it and completely repainted. Very happy with the result. Click image to enlarge Today, thank goodness the weather stayed sensible. So I fitted my new LED light bar. I am very pleased with it, and wired in with 6mm2 thinwall in PVC tube power fed direct from the alternator. It is well over 300w around 35A draw. Quality Durite Relay and Relay base connector and connected with 50A Anderson connectors which are rubber booted and waterproofed. It's mounted on X clamps in the lower location and I made new number plate brackets from Aluminium from scratch but am waiting on some Velcro stuff as well just to finish off the plate to bracket fixing. The output is superb, even brighter than my 200w previous Roolite Halogen set up. I am over the moon with it. You should of gone to Peterborough show it looked like very other stall where selling light bars.I'm not really a fan probably because I'm to old to drive fast enough to need that sort light out put and I'm the silly old fool who seems to get blinded by them .In my day it was four cibies on the front of a Escort with burn baby burn on the cassette and that what it seem like when the paint started to bubble from the 100 W bulbs

Or if you couldn't afford Cibies, you got el cheap o spots from halfords, fitted 100 watt lamps and melted the plastic grille on the front
Was that a C60 or C90 in that tape deck, legin? Recorded of the radio by chance?? And if you explained this to the young of the day, that wouldn't believe you |

Clayton, you had made it if you had an eight track
My Dad had a Marina (it was a dog sh@t orange in colour mixed with corrosion) and like most cars are these days, the radio aperture had a unique shape (it sort of tapered to one end) and was obviously an extra (as heated screens were, wing mirrors, had to buy Japanese in the 70's to get those as standard). He rigged a radio up by connecting it to a switched 12 volt supply and installing an aerial somehow to the radio's telescopic aerial (don't ask me how). It did allow us to listen to something other than how whistling on long journeys. A tape deck (or eight track) in our car were just dreams...... |
