@excossack I think somebody should take your old wiper mech and design a better specced one with rose joints or something.

Went to a local game fair, lashed it down all day. Spent the last hour pulling people out the car park that were stuck

Spent the day marshaling a competitive safari for the local Land Rover club. The ground was a little damp and it was challenging getting about.
The old girl still performed well and proved here worth even winching out other marshals who sank. Click image to enlarge Now just to wash her off. Click image to enlarge |

This was yesterday......................
It was our groups green lanning day and we started of early, here we are meeting up in the morning, can you guess where we are ............................ Click image to enlarge after breakfast we started the days greenlanning............................ We stopped here to have lunch, will let the pic's do the talking ................................... Click image to enlarge looking at this when eating and drinking.................... Click image to enlarge Then in front of us over the hill is this..................... Click image to enlarge To the left of us............................. Click image to enlarge to the right of us................... Click image to enlarge and a bit more.................to the right.................. Click image to enlarge When we had finish grub time we went of again..................... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge as you can see i was first through, this was our 3rd to last green lane and on the last green lane i was 2 corners from the up hill top and i heard a loud snick, first thoughts was the fan belt, but then there was a load of steam coming out, so i quickly shut the engine off and lifted the bonnet up, well the fan belt was still intact and the steam was hissing and spitting, so we let it cooled down, could not see anything wrong until we filled her up with water again, the loud snick was the expansion tank splitting at the join seem, right in the place you could not see or get to so we took it off and did a " field " repair and got me home again this morning a nearly new one was sourced and fitted by 9am and i took millie for a good shakedown run and all is good again The expansion tank was the original one, had 95 stamped on it here is the " field " repair.................... Click image to enlarge All in all we had a cracking day 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

After 3 months in storage I finally got round to getting the 110 out for its last clean.
The V8 Started straight away and sat burbling away....whilst I wondered how far down the fuel gauge the needle could go before it would run out of fuel. It's off now to have the back door resprayed (its white) and then my lovely will be going up for sale After my 90 was nicked (recovered and then sold) I hoped my wife might settle down after a few months, but no. She would only let me bring the 110 to clean and then I had to put it back in storage. Now I'm having thoughts about off roading the Rangey Click image to enlarge Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long 1984 110 V8 - Gone, but not forgotten.... |
