Thank you. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Time trial is great because it lasts so long, especially if you gate a 'lapped' circuit where you can see riders/teams in both directions. But for sheer numbers of people, views and atmosphere, a big moutain is a must. If you're going to make the effort at all, go the whole hog and make sure the mountain you choose (or Col) is a 'classic': Galibier, Madeleine, Colombier, Mt Ventoux etc. More planning needed, but more worthwile. Route is normally announced in October, so keep an eye open and do ask if I can help with any tips/advice. As it happens, Team Alpe d'Huez all agreed we need a second Defender so we can create a hub between the two, with tarp cover and then put up a portable screen with mini projector to watch the stage live. Bigger BBQ and Beer pump as well.....so, if you're up for it?!! Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Very nice. Are those straight, black windows with a sheen from the wash or have you re-coated them from matte to gloss? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Darcy Fairfax: Yes, that's Southlands Road, I wait for the Mrs to finish work. Are you in Bromley, I see quite a few Defenders around.
Grenadier: Standard windows, just clean. The next plan is to sell the standard wheels and put that towards getting the windows tinted. |

Replaced the stainless steel screws of the rear door by standard ones, using plenty Weicon anti-seizing paste. That is except the two screws holding the bottom hinge to the body, which will need to tackle tomorrow.
Also did the 3 monthly lifetime maps update of the full Europe maps of my SVX Garmin Nüvi 750, as well as the same plus the North America maps of the Nüvi 770. Eric You never actually own a Defender. its now done 14,000miles and 13month old
Had windscreen No3 fitted - No2 only lasted 7 days till a stone went thro it Hopefully no more leak as foam seal between the windscreen surround and Bulkhead was replaced for a 2nd time And gave it a wash after Land Rover dealer crap attempt to wash it on returning it to me - I hate wheel black they use, hat to pressure wash it off Also Fitted today - Entreq fuel cooler protection - oil change gona be a pain having to take drop the plate - black Land Rover oval to front grill - black Land rover oval to rear panel Checked air filter as the first one only did 7000 miles and it was filthy, fitted RAI and current air filter is relatively clean after doing 7000 miles, but I changed it any way Overall happy |
