I used to be indecisive....... I think !!
Wasn't sure on the minus A bar look, the light bar just looked a bit plopped in the middle of the grill , and part of the reason I left off the A bar was that I didn't want to fit it with the amazingly crap LR brackets which create rubbing and rust everywhere they contact the bumper ( not in my new bumper !! ) Click image to enlarge So tonight after work I set about making some stainless brackets out of an old shelf I had which eliminated the LR brackets entirely. Fastened using the two lower captives already in the A bar feet, then drilled through the bumper , treated the holes, then separated the bumper / A bar contact points with neoprene and bolted through with stainless fittings. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I left the light bar mounted into the grill , and with the A bar on its looks better than with the black KBX one that was fitted before. It also makes stealing the light bar much harder as it is fitted under the grill and the A bar. Rear shock sheared yet again. Must be the Polybushes being too hard, so will need another pair of shocks yet again and this time stick to OE rubber bushes.

Performance mate so they are the hardest.
They give a nice ride but this just isn't right, first time I hit a large pothole I though it was a freak thing as a one off so stupidly got new shocks and fitted them again. This has happened just normal driving, admittedly I drive a lot of back lanes but still. It's done exactly the same as last time and sheared below the collar on the upper mount at the rear. Same side too funny enough. For this to happen twice over it has to be the bushes, I've had them on and off about three times in the last year. OE bushes lasted 35k and never had shocker issues either. |

Windowlicker, love the A bar brackets, I'm sure there are many on here who would like a pair but don't have access to the tools to make them up so professionally, can you make more, or if not supply drawings and I could look to a local firm to knock a few sets up DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |
