Sorry Steve, not quite sure what you are saying there, think it may be a bit of autocorrect going on.

Sorry lol ok just to say I run updated props but that's for my suspension otherwise I'd still be running standard props even with the 3.2 although just look after them I got under mine today and greased all the joints
This is a little off topic sorry Ian As long as a prop shaft is looked after it should be fine ![]() Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

True - but a bit outdated. Modern Common Rail Diesel Technology allows a much greater control and thus output of torque and power. Not all tuners no... as some have no idea. Most tuners are not engineers - and definitely don't look at the bigger picture! The standard propshaft in a Defender will be suitable for most applications (dependant on usage) - however, once you really start making proper torque you will twist propshafts and wind them up like a piece of liquorish. There are ways around this though - I have have used HD propshafts - including those made from T45 and more exotic metals. In all honesty when you get outside then normal levels of performance, you will have to uprate other components . I also dropped Ian several emails/pm's, he replied to one but no others. The last sent on the 27 april, then a reminder email on the 9th May to see if he'd received the one sent on the 27th. I was really interested in the IRB510.
Unfortunately for Ian I have now gone with Pete at BAS. Dealing with Pete is like chalk and cheese in comparison. I enquired yesterday via a pm, my products post tomorrow. To me, customer service is king... Thanks Pete. Regards, Mark |

Slightly off topic but relevant
In the good old days Engineers used to have a Secretary or Technical Clerk, then along came Microsoft and Management Consulatants and our trusted aides were replaced by unreliable boxes on our desks under the guise of efficiency and downsizing. In true defender ownership style all us Engineers should accessorise ourselves with a Technical Clerk as a minimum. Richard 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |
