The only place the bikes have been left on for any time is Black Park over near Iver Heath.
We have a bike ride with the dogs, then a walk around the lake to throw the ball etc so could only have been with that hour or so that we do that and leave the bikes on the rack in the car park. Very worrying that they came so close ![]() Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

have a look at atomic 22 website; a seat binder bolt in lieu of the padlock may be an alternative solution if the diameters are the same?

There's always the permanent live feed behind OS rear speaker
![]() I'm told Abloy padlocks are pretty tough against bolt cutters but not sure about the body of the lock itself. They are typically S/Steel though, so to my mind, should be tougher than brass but a quick google suggests they're not cheap either. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Most brass padlocks have a brass plug in that location, it is the route by which the lock pin is assembled. The plug may just have rattled out under vibration if poorly built, hence leaving some swarf type of debris. I don't think anyone would faff about with a drill on a brass padlock, one or two simple twots with a hammer whilst jamming it in place with a small pry bar would have seen it in pieces on the floor. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

They get everywhere! Well the scum definitely drilled it but didn't get the whole way through. Nothing stolen but next time I might not be so lucky.
At least forte du Ken is safe....I'm sure I've seen lasers ![]() Thanks for all the suggestions, my Maxx Raxx now feels violated and I will be getting an anti tamper one shortly, one I find one small enough. The Atomic 22 site looks great but I'd have to carry a tool round with me each time I'd want to use the rack. Suppose I could stick it in with the puncture repair kit. Still need to measure the diameter for fitting before I go for it. =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

![]() I had one do exactly the same as that in exactly the same place last time it got down below freezing a couple of weeks ago. I went out to unlock one of the sheds and spotted exactly the same hole in the lock. The lock was covered in ice and the little brass plug was laying on the ground below it. It looked like water had got in, frozen, and forced the plug out. I simply wacked it back in with a copper mallet. As RFT said above, the plug has probably just fallen out. Pete |

So know one has been getting handset with my padlock! That's great news! It does make some sense now as otherwise I'm not sure how they would assemble the mechanism.
Still need to buy another padlock though ![]() Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

It's Karma,
The value of bikes fastened to the vehicle should be greater than the vehicles worth. There are rules about these things. www.td5.org |
